Bryan MacRobert grew up on a farm in Swartland, north of Cape Town, making mischief in the vineyards. He learnt to cultivate vines and produce his first wine whilst studying Viticulture and Oenology at Stellenbosch University.
After graduating he spent seven years travelling between Spain and South Africa, two very different countries with something in common: great wines. He was working between Priorat and Swartland and at the same time starting his own small project in South Africa.
Working in these regions, Bryan learnt how to make wine from very old vines producing unique wines of high quality. Wines made from the soil.
Bryan fell in love with the wines of Rioja and especially their diversity, eventually deciding to settle here in order to produce Laventura.
