De Kleine Wijn Koöp “Eekhoring” Wit 2017

£13.00

From one of the most dynamic and exciting producers in South Africa, this gorgeous Chenin Blanc blend is made with fruit from 38 year old Swartland vines.  With aromas of stone fruits, white flowers and hazelnut, lees ageing gives it texture and breadth on the palate with a lime accented zing.  Refreshing, satisfying and excellent value.

Jancis Robinson

Hazelnut aroma and then avocado creaminess spreads across the palate, spiked with sharp, sherbetty lime fruit and a mouth-watering jalapeño bite. Just a little prickly with potential to get more waxy and mellow in a couple of years. For now, the perfect fajita wine! GV (TC)” (21.04.2018)

De Kleine Wijn Koöp

De Kleine Wijn Koöp – ‘the little wine co-op’ – is a collaboration spearheaded by Jan Solms and Rohan Etsebeth of Stellenbosch design studio Fanakolo and videographer Faan Rabie, making fresh, of-the-moment, bona fide African wines from some of the best vineyards around the Cape.

The bottles are joys to behold, as you might expect from the creative brains behind some of South Africa’s most-loved wine labels.

These boys have noses for prime vineyards and grapes, and work with top drawer winemaking talent, so the juice inside the bottles is high caliber too. Minimal intervention niche wines, cool packaging, and charming storytelling.
