Château Corneilla

The Jonqueres d’Oriola family has been producing excellent quality wines in the Roussillon, cultivating 80 hectares (200 acres) of vines on different properties around Corneilla del Vercol, Bages, Cabestany and Canet-en-Roussillon in the Roussillon area of the South of France.

Château de Corneilla was built in the XIIth century by the Knight Templars. Philippe Jonqueres d’Oriola the current owner, now works with his son William, who reprensents the 27th generation of winegrowers in the family.

Description

After a manual harvest on the clay-stoney soil, grapes are pressed using a pneumatic press before undergoing fermentation at a low temperature (12°c-22°c) to preserve the distinctive fruit aromas. Aged in French oak for 3 weeks and ageing on fine lees in Stainless steel tanks.
